16 Riders headed to the Cust hills and Nooramunga Ranch on Sat 7th September for some western basics. Fliss and Cam hosted a fabulous rally and we are most grateful. Some wonderful learning was reflected inthe post comments afterwards and some grateful riders.

Fliss started off the small groups with the basics, look where you are going, start slow, keep the pattern and teach them to respect the rider. We walked the pattern first, then those who could, tried at trot, and others got the canter going!

Third once those skills were established we moved onto the other indoors to practice our roping skills with Cam. Let’s just say some were more ‘natural’ than others!

Special Awards

Sticky Bum. Wendy Price. Stirling got upset by Cruz galloping towards him and showed some displeasure. Then Wendy was developing her inner cowgirl on the way home from the last barrel and showed some additional displeasure.

The do not follow google maps award. Lynn Hodgson and Helen Bowler. Whilst it is true that it is quicker to follow the paper road it is perhaps smoother for the horses up the actual road.

In summary a lovely day and looking forward to our next event!
